A case report on tooth-supported overdenture with an extra-radicular attachment

Introduction: Over-dentures are the most commonly used treatment for elderly patients who still have two or more teeth in their arch. When using coping attachment over remaining part of tooth, root preserves alveolar ridge, provides sensory sense, and improves stability retention denture when compared to conventional complete dentures. This report presents a case rehabilitation partially edentulous 55 year old male patient had chief complaint poor esthetics difficulty chewing due missing teeth.Method: Considering age cost involved, implant supported prosthesis was ruled out as option patient. A tooth overdenture chosen favorable since it overcomes many problems posed by Extra- radicular attachments were improve stability.Result: Evaluation occlusion, esthetics, phonetics comfort after 24 hours, 1 week month, 6 months showed that satisfied with prosthesis.Conclusion: The denture's improved on tooth-supported over-denture retained extra-radicular attachment. efficiency, reduce residual ridge resorption.Clinical Significance: Prosthetic means maintains integrity bone support helps preservation input facilitating enhanced occlusal awareness, biting force neuromuscular control from periodontal tissue.
